Grand state formation day celebrations from Jun2 to Jun8 in :Telangana Schools




The Telangana government announced that it has decided to celebrate the state's formation day on June 2 on a "grand scale".

The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet, said a release from the Chief Minister's Office.

The celebrations would be held for a week from June 2 to June 8 during which the tricolour would be unfurled on all government offices.

The state government would provide Rs 1 crore for each district for the purpose.

Monetary rewards of Rs 1,00,116; Rs 50,116 and Rs 10,116 would be given at the state, district and mandal-levels, respectively, to meritorious recipients.

Among other decisions, the government okayed a tariff concession of Rs 7,19,000 to power loom weavers at Sircilla in Karimnagar district for 2010-2014.  It was also decided to enhance financial assistance to the families of police constables who lose their lives in terrorist violence from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh, the release said.

A cabinet sub-committee, headed by the Home Minister, would be appointed to decide on the amount of compensation to be paid to those who either suffer injuries or lose property in such incidents, it added.
