The governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have locked horns again over the release of additional water to the Krishna region. The 3.6 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) water that was being released from Nagarjuna Sagar dam for the Krishna district region of Andhra on the direction of Krishna River Management Board will be stopped from Tuesday, July 1.

Jagadeeshwar Reddy on Monday said the Telangana government will not pay the fee arrears of Seemandhra students, who took admissions in Telangana during previous academic years and are currently in various stages of completion of their courses. He stated that either Andhra Pradesh or the Centre will have to bear their fees, amounting to nearly Rs 1,800 crore.
